A video of former businessman Nathan Monkelien just before law enforcement say he shot and killed two brothers is circulating online and Iron County Circuit Court Judge Anthony Stella says he’s concerned the video could taint the jury pool in Monkelien’s murder trial. TheAshlandDailyPress reports Monkeliens lawyers say they had nothing to do with the video appearing online, that a family member was responsible for posting it. One of Monkelien’s attorneys says the video disproves a false narrative perpetrated by Ashland County District Attorney Blake Gross, and said that newspaper articles, online articles and tv stories continue to echo that narrative. He has also stated that he’s concerned about the family’s safety since the video has been seen online. Nathan Monkelien’s next court appearance is May 6th.
