At its last meeting, the Bessemer City Council voted to hold off on posting the position of city manager until its next meeting on the 22nd. TheDailyGlobe reports that council members decided they need more time on how to phrase the rate of pay. Interim City Manager Mandy Lake put forth a refined version of the job posting, with the requirements of the position, background, benefits and a tentative base salary. Councilman Zak suggested a salary range should be included and also suggested holding off on the posting until more research on what other city managers earn could be done. The council voted unanimously to table the matter.
