Plans for Gogebic County Fair Continue to Move Forward

Although plans are all still tentative, Monday evening members of the county fair board gathered to discuss next steps, including scheduling and admission. TheDailyGlobe reports that board members agreed that the location of the fair made charging an admission fee cumbersome, the idea of having donation stations throughtout the event could work. Board member Linda Nelson put forth the idea of selling ticket bundles for the carnival rides, and presented a possible schedule for the event. A budget of $25,000 was discussed and it was suggested by interim fair coordinator and County Administrator Juliane Giackino that a formal budget be submitted to the to the county Board of Commissioners. The Civic Center Board of Directors has yet to ok any plans, but has been communicated with. The fair board’s next meeting is scheduled for May 6th.
