Double Digit Reality for Ashland Utilities Coming

2024 could bring a big surprise along with the water bill in Ashland. TheDailyPress reports a double digit increase on all water and sewer services is on the way. The intial hike will be about 30% with 3% annual increases after that. The increase is based on a consultants report. The increases are slated to fund maintenance projects Ashland has been pushing back, like working on the city’s cast iron water piping. On top of the water and sewer increase, the city is also talking about issuing bonds to fund the refurbishment of the Vaughn Library downtown. If the bonds go through, the owner of a home valued at $100k would see an extra 71 dollars on their annual tax bill.
