The Bessemer City Council is at an impasse on user fees for public spaces, like the auditorium at City Hall. TheDailyGlobe reports at their last meeting, the council held two votes on whether to keep the new fee schedule for those spaces. Pushback from community members about the new higher fees are a big reason for the impasse. By the end of the meeting, it was decided that the fee schedule would remain in place until the council can address at its next meeting and get input from the entire council and the Mayor.
