An application to build a campground with 3 rental cabins, storage buildings and pontoon and snowmobile rentals has been denied by the Iron County Comprehensive Planning/Land and Zoning Committee. TheDailyGlobe reports the committee met recently to consider the application by Chad Bierbrauer on a site owned by Melvin Pemble in Mercer. The no vote was based on a conditional use public hearing in which potential traffic issues were one of the main concerns. It was suggested during the hearing that residents form a covenant that would put forth what they would and wouldn’t allow in their neighborhood.
