At the meeting of the Ironwood City Commission at the beginning of the week, there were several items on the agenda, including approving a bid for crack sealing of city streets submitted by Scodeller Construction. TheDailyGlobe says the purchase of a new Case loader with plow and wing for the Department of Public Works from Miller-Bradford & Risberg of Negaunee was approved, as well as changes to the city’s Demolition Incentive Program that helps reimburse some of the costs of demolishing structures in the city. The City Manager also praised everyone involved in the successful search and rescue of Nanta Niemi, the 8 year old boy from Hurley who was found after spending two days in the Porcupine Mountains.
