Despite the Snow, 47th Annual Event Scheduled for Next Saturday

Although there’s still plenty of snow on the ground, Easter is here and next on the annual calendar is the 47th annual Midwest Crane Count, scheduled to take place a week from Saturday. Even with all the snow, the cranes are coming back, in fact a couple of mating pairs have been spotted in Oneida County. The information collected by the International Crane Foundation is used to determine the population level and distribution of cranes in six Midwestern states. The count will take place next Saturday from 5:30 am to 7:30 am. Anyone interested in volunteering to participate in the count can go to savingcranes.org.
