2nd Snowmobile Related Death in As Many Weeks in the U.P.

Excessive speed was thought to the be cause in the second snowmobile crash in as many days in the U.P. last week. Nathan Stearns Hohman of Ohio died on Thursday. According to the Alger County Sheriff’s office, Hohman was traveling on trail #8, about a mile south of H-58 late at night when he failed to negotiate a curve. The 52 year old Hohman hit a tree, was ejected from the vehicle and struck the tree again. He was pronounce dead on the scene. As of mid month last month, Michigan has had at least 14 snowmobile related deaths for the season, which has surpassed the number of the fatalities in the past two years.
