The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has announced a $1 billion grant program, the America the Beautiful Challenge. RRN reports the project will fund diverse, landscape level conservrunation projects. The state of Michigan has been awarded $5 million by the state’s Department of Natural Resources to remove 27 stream barriers to restore passage of fish and other aquatic species. The DNR will partner with local organizations and federally recognized tribes to reconnect nearly 200 upstream miles of rivers and streams,including those in Two Mile Creek in Gogebic County
