Bessemer City Council Gets Report on State of Road Repairs

The Bessemer City Council at their meeting earlier this week addressed the closure of the current road construction in the area for the season. The Globe reports the discussion began with a complaint from a resident and ended with the council querying the engineers on the project about the increases in expenses. The council voted to enter into the record a complaint letter from Kellie Ellsworth on the condition of the roads in her area. Darren Pionk, engineer for C2AE, explained the necessity of tearing up the roads more than once, and that in the ends the roads will be better. The increases in water project expenses and sewer project expenses were also discussed, with the assurance by C2AE that the changes were mandated by the city and were approved.
