The Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health is hosting an essay contest in partnership with the Michigan Center for Rural Health and the Legacy Literacy Fund of Michigan. According to RRN, high school students who attend school and live in the U.P. and plan to study in a health related field at a college or Uuniversity next fall are invited to participate. This is the third annual essay contest for U.P. high school leading up to National Rural Health Day on Nov. 17. Prizes will be awarded to the top-three finishers in each of three U.P. regions: Eastern, Central and Western. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, the 16th.
