The man who carjacked a van from a gas station and assaulted its elderly driver has been arrested, and it turns out he’d been hiding in a home near Bayview. According to the DailyPress, authorities thought Seth Genereau might have fled the area when the police received a call from a Washburn resident who said they’d seen Genereau in the area of Memorial Park. When officers found him, they deployed a stun gun to subdue him when he tried to escape. A homeowner on Howard Road had reported she’d seen someone similar to Genereau in her house when returning home after being gone a few days. He’s being held in the Bayfield County jail on preliminary charges of vehicle theft, and fleeing officers among other counts. Genereau has a history of mental illness.
