A group supporting the $450 million proposed Line 5 relocation project gathered outside the UA Local 400 Office and Training Center late last week. The relocation project which would cover Ashland, Bayfield and Iron Counties, is estimated to bring over 700 construction jobs to the area is being reviewed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Supporters at the gathering heard from several community members on the need for the relocation project and why pipelines are the safest way to transport energy to Wisconsin to continue to provide quality of life.
