Ironwood Considering Making Way for More Affordable Housing

The Ironwood City Commission held a special meeting yesterday to consider purchasing the former Sleight Elementary School. According to the NewsRecord, the parcel could be a potential location for affordable housing. The resolution would allow the purchase of the property for $180,000 with funds from the city’s housing development fund. The Sleight building was closed after the 2013 and 2014 school year, with the school using it for several educational programs until 2018 when the building failed inspection.
