Ironwood City staff will present a draft of the boundaries for the downtown development plan when the Downtown Ironwood Development Authority meets on Thursday. According to the DailyGlobe, Director of Community Development Tom Bergman says the DIDA intends to create a tax increment financing district in the downtown area. The financing district wouldn’t increase or decrease taxes but would change how the city can spend those tax dollars. Bergman plans to draft the development area’s boundaries for DIDA members to review in early October.
