Rain Doesn’t Put A Damper On Weekend Events In Mercer

Although the rainy weather over the weekend did affect attendance to a couple of events at Mercer’s Carow Park, die-hards showed up for the Lupine Junefest and the Mercer Birdfest. According to the Daily Globe, nearly a hundred cyclists chose different length routes for their ride. Bird Fest activities ended sooner than expected, but host naturalists guided bird hikes of the Little Turtle Wildlife Area and the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage Scenic Waters Area, and bird banding sessions were a big hit. Although the weather put an unexpected damper on the events, Mercer Chamber Director Melissa Biszak was easygoing about the weather, saying sometimes it happens.
