COVID Community Levels in U.P. Low, But Case Count Rising

The Western U.P. Health Department posted its weekly stats on Wednesday. Each of the five counties in the area still show low COVID-19 community levels, but the seven day case count went up 41 cases. 8 in Ontonagon and 9 in Gogebic counties. The Iron County Public Health Department in Wisconsin hasn’t posted a virus update since March 30th. According to the CDC, the county’s COVID-19 community level was low. The health department reported that the overall vaccine statistics in the 5 county area stand at 57.6% of people have received their first dose of the vaccine. According to the Michigan First-Dose Tracker on michigan.gov, 66.8% of the total Michigan population have received one or more dose.
