A fundraiser for “Lil’ Bomber” the duck was held on Friday in Ironwood. A Leg UP on Life was held to help pay for 3D printed legs for the duck, who lost both legs to frostbite. Lil’ Bomber, a was rescued by Rob “Duckman” Saari, a retired U.S. Army Combat Engineer. Saari says Lil Bomber can float just fine but without legs can’t really do much else. The first version of prosthetic limbs is waiting to be fitted to the bird by the Willow Animal Hospital in Ashland. Saari hopes to raise $1,500 between the fundraiser last Friday and online.
