MET Program at GCC Provides Students With Real World Experience

The Gogebic Coummunity College Board of Trustees at their regular meeting last week was treated to a program review by Dennis Svoke, the program instructor for the Mechanical Engineering Technology at GCC. According to the Daily Globe, the MET Program is designed for students who want to be involved in the design and manufacturing of products in accordance industry standards. Within in their first year of study, students will earn a Certificate of Manufacturing and after their second year, an associates degreein MET. Svoke said the greatest strength of the MET program is that students gain a strong foundation in design and manufacturing which allows them to hit the ground running in their first real world position.
