Animal Owners Will Bear More Responsibility In Wakefield

During their meeting at the beginning of the week, the Wakefield City Council passed an animal ordinance, a result of complaints, and an attack that resulted in the death of another dog. The Daily Globe reports that the issues have been reviewed for quite some time, along with a review of the current animal ordinance, and opportunities for public comment were well attended by community members. The commission decided not to put a limit on the number of animals one could have but rather put in place stricter regulations on those owning the animals. The ordinance will take effect 30 days from its approval.
