Ambulance and MedEvac Service Secured for Gogebic County

Ambulance service contracts for Gogebic County have been finalized and signed. As reported by the Daily Globe, Jim Lorenson, the chair of the ambulance committee says contracts with the Beacon and Aspirus MedEvac services have been signed by all involved and are in place, including a provision covering the Eagle River hospital, so that Watersmeet Township will be covered from both the south and east. The board has applied for the First Responder Training grant through the state department of treasury. Word of approval is expected by early April. of the county isn’t approved for that grant they will look for other options with U.P. Michigan Works and possibly the Lac View Desert Band to fund a training program.
