Annual Event Sees Largest Attendance Ever

This past Saturday, the Northern Pines Sled Dog Race drew the largest crowd for the event in its four year history. The event was held at Northern Pines Golf Course and Event Center, sponsored by the Iron River Area of Chamber of Commerce. Four different sprint races plus a mutt run for the kids and a weight pull. Many of the participants in the races were under 18, and although none placed in the top three, they represent the future of dog sledding. The Mutt Run saw 15 kids and their dogs participating, and the Weight Pull saw an entry from Minneapolis pull a total of 800 pounds.
