Right to Farm Act in Bessemer Sees Some Beneficial Changes

Beekeepers in the city of Bessemer are getting a break. The planning commission tweaked the right to farm ordinance at its meeting earlier in the week. According to the Daily Globe, the city will not regulate bees in areas that are zoned industrial or country estates, which are further away from the city center. Hives in other areas however, will be heavily restricted. The adjustments to the Right to Farm Act will allow residents to have bees without having them interfere with the neighbours. The board will hold a public hearing on the right to farm act on March 1st.
