Wakefield Moves Forward With Dog Ordinance

The first reading of the amended ordinance that puts tighter parameters on dog owners was held at the City of Wakfield Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday night. According to the Daily Globe, The ordinance does not limit the number animals a resident can own but does hold other restrictions when it comes to the care of animals and allows local law enforcement more leeway when responding to complaints and issuing tickets for violations. The ordinance will be read again on March 8th, then it can be adopted and published locally. It will then take effect 30 days after publication.
