Classic Holiday Film,Historic Organ Performance On Tap for Ironwood This Weekend

This weekend, the Ironwood Theatre is screening the 1910 silent version of “A Christmas Carol” followed by a concert of seasonal music by local performers. The movie will be accompanied byTim Mesun on the theater’s Barton organ, one of only six organs in it’s original place of installation in the country. It was used as accompaniment to silent films when the theater opened in 1928. The first performance will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and a Sunday matinee is planned for 2 p.m. According to the theater website, online ticket sales will close one hour before showtime and tickets will still be available at the door up until showtime.
