Blood Supply in U.S. and Upper Peninsula At All Time Low

The American Red Cross is grappling with a historically low blood supply and donors are expecially needed during this time of year. The American Red Cross supplies almost half of the country’s blood supply. There is no waiting period for those wishing to donate blood, who’ve had their flu shot and COVID-19 vaccinations. In Gogebic County, blood drives are scheduled in Ironwood on the 15th, Marenisco on January 5th, and in Bessemer on January 6th. for more information and to schedule an appointment to donate, go to redcrossblood.org.
