In his report to the Hurley Board of Public Works Committee, Water manager Gary Laguna said the project to replace some 50 residential lead or galvanized lines is exceeding expectations. Grant dollars reimburse contractors that replace those outmoded lines on private property from homes to the main city connection. The grants may also make it possible to do closer to 60 replacements overall. Laguna also let the committee know that the city is again eligible for the lead line service replacement funds from Wisconsin for 2022-23.
