School District Officials Cite COVID-19 Concerns As They Temporarily Close Mercer Schools

Schools in Mercer are closed the rest of this week due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. School district officials say classes will be held virtually until in-school learning can be held again. the two and three year old program will also be closed as well as pre-K to 6th grade til Monday, the 20th and 7th -12th will return on Tuesday the 21st. There will be no sports games or practices until students return. On Friday, seven students and staff tested positive and on Monday the school conducted 89 tests and 11 positive cases. Students will have to wear masks or be tested for COVID-19 when they come back to school next week.
