This past Monday night, the Ironwood City Commission approved demolitions and scheduled public hearings to address inaction on other dilapidated properties. The commission authorized opening bids for the demolition of the house at 400 E. Tamarack Street. The structure is already owned by the city. Opening bids for demolition for a structure on Garvey street was also approved. An exterior stairwell on a structure at 420 McLeod Avenue was also approved. The commission also approved scheduling a public hearing for 5:25 p.m. Sept. 13, regarding the condemnation of a structure at 110 E. Birch St. The hearing is to consider declaring the structure a public nuisance.
