Returning to A Semblance of Normalcy for Schools

The Ironwood Area Schools Board of Education met this past Monday to prepare for the start of the next school year. Refreshing the actual school buildings is underway and the board continues to search for candidates to fill several open positions. Principal Nigh said she hopes to interview some candidates next week. The board also met with a consultant from the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District to analyze how the district serves special need students. Superintendent Travis Powell says that the district is on track to start the upcoming school year as normally as possible.
