Celebration of the Fourth of July holiday begins today in Wakefield, with Family, Friends and Freedom as the theme. The 24th annual Matt Ahonen Softball Tournament kicks off the festivities at 5 and continues through the weekend. The Hometown Variety Show is scheduled for Thursday the 1st at the Wakefield-Marenisco K-12 School, and the schedule continues to fill as the week progresses, with live music, a town picnic, Lightning on the Lake on the 3rd and parade on the 4th.
