ONTONAGON BOARD OF ED HEARS PRESENTATION ON VIRTUAL LAKES ACADEMY
The Ontonagon Board of Ed heard a presentation from Jerry Pease of the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District on the Virtual Lakes Academy. If the district joined the academy, home schooled students would have access to instructors that might not be available with the current teacher shortage. Also, students would still be registered with the school district which means no loss of funding. Pease also suggested that Virtual Lakes Academy might bring students that might not come back to in person learning back to school.
