BESSMER VFW POST 3687 TAKES EASTER CELEBRATION OUTSIDE
The Bessemer VFW Post 3687 for the second year hosted a COVID friendly Easter celebration organizers dubbed an “ Easter Egg Hunt in a Bag”. Dozens of cars drove on either side of a table stocked with Easter goodies and the Easter bunny greeting kids in cars as they passed by. Volunteers stuffed 1500 plastic eggs and prepared Easter bags for the kids. Members of the Gogebic county Sheriff’s offic were on hand to direct traffic and greet attendees. The VFW traditionally has an indoor party with lunch, but with COVID-19, it was decided to do outdoor, drive through events to make the celebration safe for everyone.
