The Bessemer Area School District is working on re-forming a friends and alumni foundation that had somehow lapsed in the past. According to the Daily Globe, Superintendent Dan Niemi updated the board of education on the progress at its meeting Monday. The foundation would be a 501(c)(3) where people can make contributions or donations to the school according to Niemi. The superintendent also said the foundation will be much like the one in place at Ironwood Area Schools.
