The Ironwood Chamber of Commerce has begun Festival Ironwood 2021 preparations. According to the Daily Globe, the annual four-day, family-friendly event centered at Historic Depot Park was canceled for 2020 and planning for 2021 had started but stopped once the pandemic shutdown orders were put in place in March. At present, the event may be modified or potentially canceled depending on COVID-19 restrictions guidelines, however organizers have said the outlook for midsummer 2021 is more likely to go ahead even if modifications are required. The event will remain centered at Depot Park for its space and amenities however there may be opportunities to expand some of the event activities to the new Downtown City Square but it is too soon to say how the space may be incorporated.
