COVID 19 cases in Gogebic county have passed the 1,000 mark, with the Health Department confirming 712 positive and 294 probable infections. According to the Daily Globe, there are currently 18 active cases and 39 deaths as of Monday. The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department says the five county area it serves have had a total of 3,965 cases, 3,147 confirmed with 118 deaths and 67 active cases. Health officials continue to stress the importance of social distancing, frequent hand washing, staying close to home, and wearing a mask to prevent droplet spread.
