Popular Local Band Needs Help To Make It To DC

Marty’s Goldenaires, an Upper Peninsula drum and bugle corps based in Bessemer and sponsored by American Legion Post 27, has been invited to represent the state of Michigan in a parade at the nation’s capitol for America’s 250th birthday. The Goldenaires have performed across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, and notably have played during halftime at a Greenbay Packers game at Lambeau Field, and inside the Michigan State Capitol for the State House of Representatives. That dream opportunity comes with a hefty price tag for travel, transportation and lodging to Washington D.C. To help cover expenses, a GoFundMe page has been set up with a goal of $30,000. As of Monday, nearly $12,000 has been raised. Any and all help is appreciated. You can view or donate at gofundme.com and search help marty’s goldenaire reach dc parage.
