Gogebic Community College President Christopher Patritto has resigned, effective July 1, after just two years in the role. TheDailyGlobe reports Patritto told the Board of Trustees on Tuesday that after 40 years of work, he needs to focus on other areas of his life, a decision he hadn’t anticipated having to make six months ago. Patritto expressed gratitude for the board, faculty, and staff, calling his time as president a “meaningful chapter” and stating the college and communities “matter deeply” to him. He offered to stay until a qualified successor is appointed or through a transition period to ensure “continuity and stability,” expressing confidence in the college’s future. The college now has two high level vacancies to fill, vice president of business services has been open since Chad Lashua resigned at the end of June.
