Hurley Says No to Receiving Land Back

The Hurley City Council in a brief meeting this past Monday said no to a request to deed back a piece of property to the City by an out of area land owner. According to TheDailyGlobe, Scott Santini, head of the Hurley Department of Public Works said the property isn’t fit to build anything on, so it would not serve any purpose for the city. The council also revisited charging city fees on special events hosted by outside vendors. It was agreed that rental applications from other cities in the area should be obtained to see how its done there. It was agreed that if the City rents to an outside entity, its only fair that the City see a percentage of the profits from the event.
