Wisconsin’s archery and crossbow deer hunting season is opening early this year, in fact, it starts tomorrow, Saturday. The gun-deer season will also open later this year, which means archery season will be one week longer. That means warmer-than-average temperatures for the start of the season, which will make tracking animals tougher, but it also means there may be more animals available. The DNR reminds hunters to get whatever deer they harvest tested for Chronic Wasting Disease. The state also cautions hunters to observe all safety rules, as injuries during hunting season see an increase. Bow season will close in January.
