GCC Nursing Program Gets High Marks

The Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation has been evaluating Gogebic Community College’s nursing program and GCC’s Director of Allied Health Nicole Rowe reports it has been approved. The program was evaluated using five standards, including including program outcomes, mission, student success, faculty, curriculum and evaluation process. Rowe said GCC’s pass rate for students taking the State Boards is above the national average and the new accreditation will only help students as they begin working in the medical fields. The CNEA promotes quality, excellence and integrity in nursing education and provides a set of standards and quality indicators that all students can be evaluated by.
