The Lakeland Union High School Board of Education is now an eight-member board. The LakelandTimes reports at-large member Ann Hunt resigned from the board last week and the board “regretfully accepted” it. Hunt was not at the meeting and no reason for her departure was given. The topic of a smaller board and perhaps waiting to post the postion was brought up. A number of legal and procedural issues with delaying posting were brought up and the board, finally the board agreed to post the vacancy and Lisa Schuman agreed to serve in Hunt’s stead on the board’s policy committee.
