Rebuild of Lakeland Airport Runways in Arbor Vitae Out for Bids

The two runways at Arbor Vitae’s Lakeland Airport are on tap to be reconstructed. The LakelandTimes reports the bidding process begins today and the winning project bid will be sent to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Aeronautics and then to the FAA. Once the winning bidder is identified, it will be too late in the year, so construction will be scheduled to start in the spring of 2025. The contractor will have a little over a month to complete the project. There will only be a few days during which all runways will be closed. The required as the city’s match is around $310,000. Overall cost for the project hasn’t been disclosed, and won’t be until the bidding process is over.
