A donation from a local company will allow the Gogebic County 4-H Knapsack program to feed roughly a 100 families across the four districts the program serves. TheDailyGlobe reports the $1,500 donation came from Republic Services, with Tyler Jacobson, municipal sales manager for the Northern Wisconsin branch of the company presenting the donation. The Knapsack Program provides food for students and their families during school breaks. Each knapsack sent home with a student has roughly $40.00 worth of food, including shelf stable items. The program is active during the Spring, Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. I’m Roxanne Stuart.
