Northland College in Ashland in Trouble

Northland College in Ashland has announced that it will begin the process of closing the school if it does not raise $12 million in the next few weeks. TheAshlandDailyPress reports declining enrollment, decreased financial support and growing costs have put the school in its precarious position. Northland has been operating in the red since 2016. In 2022, its revenue was $31.8 million with $35.1 million in expenses. Currently, the school has roughly 550 students. The statement issued by the school said every decision over the last few years has been made to continue serving the needs of the students, but the only way to do that is with adequate funding in place
