At the most recent meeting of the Presque Isle town board, members expressed some concern regarding the town budget. According to TheLakelandTimes, conversation regarding the purchase of an office laptop then brought up the topic of the town budget. Town chairman John MacLean said that an actual budget might not be available for another several months. An accountant and attorney were hired late last year to have a look at the budget, which was thought to be balanced, then proved not to be. According to MacClean, issues with the budget started in his absence from the board until he was reelected after a special election in November of last year.
