The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity has announced that three local entities have been awarded Michigan Community Centers grant funds. TheDailyGlobe reports the Ironwood Carnegie Library, the Historic Ironwood Theatre and the Lake Gogebic Senior Citizen’s Club in Bergland will share in $64 million with 69 non-profit agencies, 22 local government agencies and nine schools and universities. There were more than 1000 applications, requesting over a billion dollars in a highly competitive process. The library received $750,000, the Ironwood Theatre received $250,000 and the Senior Citizen’s Club received $300,000.
