The city of Bessemer is looking for a new executive director for the Downtown Development Authority. TheDailyGlobe reports the person hired will work on a part-time basis, taking over from Samantha Dorr, who has held that position for the last year and a half. Dorr has since been named the city’s deputy clerk, so the position is now open, and has duties similar to a city manager. The executive director of the DDA will work about 30 hours a month. Salary for the position has not been determined yet. City Manager Christopher Frazer will cover Dorr’s duties until a replacement is found.
