The Hurley City Council at its meeting last week voted to approve an agreement with MSA Professional Services to begin work on U.S. 51 at an estimated cost of $240,000. TheDailyGlobe reports bids for the projects will go out soon, and then the council can review the applicants. Jeff Seamandel, the MSA liaison for the city, said permit applications with the Wisconsin Deparmtnet of Transportation are underway. Project plans, permits and other specs should be ready by the end of the year. Construction on the reconstruction of U.S. 51 is scheduled to start in the Spring.
